Large Mouth Bass

On Thursday night August 24, 2006 while fishing at the crossover, I landed a 5.22 lb Largemouth Bass on a trout worm. As I was reeling in my line, I got a hit about 2" from the wall, all of a sudden my line went crazy and my rod bent almost to the water.

After about 5 minutes I reeled in this nice Large Mouth Bass.

Trout are still available
Topic: Trout Fishing
Thursday August 24, 2006 we were fishing the crossover and a little Spanish boy about 8 years old was fishing with a coke can. He explained the joy of can fishing to us when his can started to rattle arount the ground. When he checked his line, he has a 16" Rainbow Trout attached to his hook. He was all excited, ut had no idea what kind of fish it was.

Horn Pond Saturday May 8,2004
The fishing today at Horn Pond was tough, the wind was blowing about 5 knots, the outside air temperature was 52 degrees. The Crappies, Pumpkinseeds, Small Bass were hitting on flies.
Jesse was teasing them, all very small.

Dwight caught about a 3 lb bass on a shiner in the main pond area at the crossover.

1 small 11" Rainbow was caught on Berkley Powerbait, and a few others were catching very small yellow perch on spinners.

The weather seems to be playing havoc with the fish, lots of waves and wind. Not the most productive day.

Sunday May 2,2004 - Horn Pond - Woburn ,Ma.
Sunday May 2,2004.
The weather was overcast about 60degrees and a light drizzle in the afternoon.
The trout fishing was very slow from 3:00-6:00 as the rains passed through.
We caught 6 trout between 6pm and 7:45pm at the back crossover, three from each side of the pond, all on berkley powereggs. The anglers who were fishing with worms were getting hits by small yellow perch, most around 7".
The carp we slightly active jumping out of the water, but no signs of the ellusive Broodstock Salmon.
Look on the webpage under the Horn Pond link for Photo's from Sunday.

Trout Fishing At Horn Pond
The trout fishing season is in full bloom.
The trout at Horn Pond in Woburn,Ma. are being caught in droves.
Most trout are being caught on the bottom, about 30 yards off shore with chartreuse powerbait.
The back of the pond seems to be the area at the moment, though some have landed a few small ones from the parking lot area.

On Saturday April 24th, our group landed 6 Rainbow Trout, 4 appeared to be recent stocked and averaged about 12", two were about 141/2".

On Thursday April 29th Jesse landed a 15 3/4" 2/5lb Rainbow Trout along with a 14" 13/4 lb Rainbow.

The bait of choice seems to be Powerbait eggs, floated about 16" off the bottom.

The temperature was about 62 and the wind was blowing about 10knots from the back of the pond.
